I´m Going to Change the World Manifesto

            The past 12 years I have learned several lessons that inspire me to be a better person each day of my life. Most importantly, my 12^th grade when I reflected on the many people who could receive my help; people who do not have the same accommodations or opportunities I have had.

            Unfortunately I noticed this disparity too late yet with the help of my teacher Ms. Sierra Melcher, I realized that there is an injustice in the world. There is a big difference between the people that have money and those who do not. The richest 20% of the world's people get 86% of world income while the poorest 20% get only 1.3%. (Ted Trainer). This is not a new issue but rather a problem that has been developing for decades. The main reason for this injustice is the economy, which automatically goes to the wealthiest people. This leaves poor people to work for the richest businessmen just for an insignificant salary.

            Sometimes we prefer to avoid worrying about other families and prefer to go to a soccer game, a golf tournament, hairdressing or even a fancy party. While in the mean time, other families do not have anything to wear, eat or resources to buy medicine.  In the movie Food Inc. I witnessed a heart breaking case of a family that was suffering due to lack of money.  A family that has 4 family members and does not have anything to eat, they have to food almost every day in “Burger King” because the healthy food is to expensive to afford it. The father of the family has a disease. He has to consume a specific medicine but if he does he cannot buy healthy food. After watching this film the first thing I taught was; how can I help these people?

            As we all now the wealthy are getting richer every day. So I keep thinking, the only way we could help those people that really have bad situations is by giving them a hand. I think everybody could be prosperous just with a little of effort. And the only way to reach the top is by having a good education in order to be a professional.  This means that if the government or the wealthy people help the people with low resources, then everybody will have the same opportunities to be someone important in the world and at the same time when they have resources; help other poor people. Even though I could not do this by my own so I need to explain my thoughts to everybody I know, passing from person to person until someone recognized or a leader in the world hear it, making those toughs into reality.

            Another catastrophe that I am so worried about it is the climate issue. Teachers of biology, Chemistry, Physics and Social Studies have taught us that if we do not take care of our world, the only people that are going to be affected are our kids.  Since our teacher Ms. Sierra assigned us to make post about the actual world problems, I started to investigate about how the climate is changing and how is affecting us. One time I investigated about a case in Alaska caused by the increase of the temperature melting the permafrost on North Alaska. Permafrost is the ice that is under the ground which must be always frozen so the constructions that are above it don´t fall.  A scientist called Vladimir Romanvosbsky said, "Anything that happens to the climate, it's reflected in the permafrost," he says. "Warmer temperatures, less permafrost, it's simple." This is causing that a lot of houses and buildings in Alaska fall, the roads separate and villages crack. This is shocking for me because what we were taught few years ago, it is really happening now and there is evidence.

            I do not know why these investigations about global warming intrigue me so much but since two months ago, I am thinking about studying something related to the climate. All my entire life I planned to study industrial engineering but now I am thinking of making a master of climatology. My parents and teachers always told me to study something that you really like in order to have more job opportunities. During my whole life I had different options of careers like, fashion design, pilot, economist but with help of my school I realized what I really like and what are the things that I am really passionate. This leaves me to my main goal: demonstrate the real me to the people and be the person that at least tried to safe the planet.

Fix you

 A Coldplay song that was written by all the members of the band for Chris Martin ex girlfriend called, Gwyneth Paltrow when his father died. This can relate to hamlet because when ophelia father (polonius) died she felt very afflicted and was really sad. It got to the point that she was strapped to a restrain shirt and was thought to be insane. Both stories relates in the way that both girls felt the gap of a missing a father. 
The song Fix You says, "When you try your best, but you do not succeed. When you get what you want, but not what you need." This relates with Hamlet because he got what he wanted killing "his uncle" but he did not obtain what he needed because instead he killed Ophelia´s father. 
the song also says "When you lose something you can't replace, When you love someone, but it goes to waste" This also relates to ophelia because she lost her father and that can not be replaced, she also loved hamlet but due to his thirst for revenge he became obsessed with killing his uncle and all the love ophelia had went to waste. This is why we picked this song as part of our playlist and related it to hamlet.




Need You Now
     
 The song Need You Now by Lady Antebellum is about two people that seems to care about each other but for some reason they are apart. About how a person started to do bad things like drinking because she is missing a close person that was very significant for her. The song says that they no longer care about what is happening in the world; the only thing she cares now is missing person. This song is very related to the Hamlet composition that talks about how Ophelia lost her father and she is missing him so much. 

  In the Play in the Act IV scene ii talks about how Ophelia is starting to get crazy because she can not believe that the person that she love the most is dead. In the song says, " I'm all alone and I need you now." "And I don't know how I can do without.I just need you now and I don't know how I can do without.I just need you now." This is the same thing that felt Ophelia, she feels so alone and the only thing she want is to have him a life. In the other hand it represents the craziness, "Another shot of whiskey, can't stop looking at the door.Wishing you'd come sweeping in the way you did before." In the song the craziness or the desperation is represented in a bottle of Whiskey and in the play is shown is the crazy acts of Ophelia by jumping in to the floor with desperate screams and tears. 

Pobre Diabla

The song pobre diabla is about a women who went crazy due to her passionate love for a man who was not meant for her. The women goes crazy and lets herself go, she starts crying and wondering around the streets and she is no longer the beautiful women she once was. The women ruined her life and her future for this men who never actually loved her and she wasted the rest of her life spending days crying and regretting everything.

This is similar to ophelia because she went crazy after her loved one Hamlet killed her father in a tragic accident. Ophelia never really recovered from this blow life gave her and she became crazy and had to us a restraining shirt. Ophelia had the same faith as the women in the song they both became crazy and full of regret due to a man who allegedly loved them.

Suicidal Toughts

The song suicidal toughts by B.I.G is a song that talks about a man who is overwhelmed by everything in his life and is wondering if he should kill himself or continue to live in a world that is no longer fit for him. During the song he is talking on the phone with a friend and they Biggie goes over what his past life was and what his future life will look like.

This relates to hamlet because hamlet contemplates suicide when he says his famous line of to be to not to be. Like in the song the Main character does not know if life stills worthy and if he SHOULD continue living it. In the song the character kills him self but in hamlet the Main character decides he SHOULD take revenge instad of killing himself and seize to exist.

Somebody that I used to know 

This song is about two people that cared for each other and after some time gorgoteo about each other and practically became strangers. This song Also talked about how often this happens and people that loved each other tend to forget this and become strangers and or enemies. This love is post and un most cases it is fue to a simple cause that could be solved with a simple apology or a simple conversation.

This relates to hamlet because the exact same situation happened to hamlet and ophelia. They were two libres who has great passion and after hamlet became obssesed with revenging his fathers death and killing his uncle the relationship between him and ophelia went to the drain. After this hamlet the accidentally killed iphelias father and finished killing the already dead relationship.theen ophelia went crazy and that was the final Nail in the coffin, after this they became strangers and practically lost all the love they had.

Honesty

Honesty is a song written by Billy Joel and talks about how people lie a lot to each other. "Honesty is such a lonely word. Everyone is so untrue. Honesty is hardly ever heard. And mostly what I need from you." This means that sometimes is difficult to say the true. What he want to spread to the people is that even though we don´t like to tell the truth we should effort a little bit more because every body deserve to know the thrush. 

This song relates to Hamlet play in the way how his uncle was dishonest with him. His uncle preferred to keep quiet instead of confront him and tell Hamlet that he killed his uncle. Hamlet deserved to know the truth from him not from other person. His uncle was such a lier that hamlet gave him chances of telling him the truth making him the things easier but instead he refuse to be honesty. 

Really Don´t Care

This song from Demi Lovato shows a person that is dissapointed about somebody lies. That person was so important for her but he betrayed her in such way that she doesn´t want to know anything about him. She says she don´t care but in the inside she really care because she is tired of the other people lies. Sometime when someone hurts you that way you prefer to run away instead of being with a person that does not worth it. 

Demi Lovato leaves clear she gave him a chance of be treated like she deserve it but he  didn´t take advantage of that. The same happened in Hamlet play when Hamlet was disappointed with his mom because he knew that his mother was involved in his father murder.  He gave her mother the opportunity to have good relation between mother and son but instead she betrayed him doing the worst thing of all. Now Hamlet can not see his mother the same way he did, he does not want to have anything to be with her. 

Warrior

This is a short song written by Demi Lovato that talks about a girl that who suffered when she was a kid. The true meaning of this song is that Demi had some issues with her dad when she was a kid. Her father was alcoholic and abusive with Demi but even though she will never forget that, Demi pulled the guts where she don't have and continue with her life that leaves her in the place were she is now. Some  time we need something traumatic to happen to us so we change and be strong so we could reach all our dreams. 

"All the pain and the truth. I wear like a battle wound. So ashamed so confused, I was broken and bruised. Now I'm a warrior. Now I've got thicker skin" This is similar to the life of Hamlet. Hamlet suffered a traumatic scene were his father was dead thanks to his mother and his uncle. After this, he will never be he same with them or with himself. Now he is a strong man that could reach everything he propose. Now he is a strong man that no body could hurt him more because he cant suffer more, he need to continue with his new life or love (Ophelia). Finally, now he could revenge or defend what he want or anything that does not like in his life.
